Andalusia is also the land of sherry, an alcoholic wine. The grapes made of sherry are grown near Jerez de la Frontera. For sherry, two grape varieties are mainly used: the Palomino and Pedro Ximenez At the sherry, tapas are often eaten. These are typical Spanish aperitif snacks that are consumed during the drunk hour.
In the total economy of Andalusia, fisheries play a role of minor importance, but in coastal areas it has traditionally been a cultural factor; Specialties are shrimp and tuna.
